Economic Reformer: Arun Jaitley passes away aged 66

Former finance minister and economic reformer of India Mr. Arun Jaitley passed away at AIIMS Delhi on Saturday 24 August 2019. He was suffering from breathing problems, palpitations, and restlessness. Mr. Jaitley had undergone kidney transplant last year and opted out of the 2019 Modi government.

Mr. Jaitley will be known for his continuous effort to strengthen the Indian economy. Mr. Jaitley initiated many game-changing schemes when he was into cabinets. GST was one of those, GST has reformed the Indian indirect tax system.

Early life( 28 December 1952 – 24 August 2019 )

Mr. Arun Jaitley was born on 28 Dec 1952 in Delhi, His father Maharaj Kishen Jaitley was a lawyer and mother Ratan Prabha Jaitley a housewife. He passed his LLB degree from the Faculty of Law, University of Delhi. Sangeeta Jaitley is his wife.


He practised in the supreme court of India since 1987 and in 1990 he became a senior advocate in Delhi High court. he worked as Additional Solicitor General  in V.P. Singh government. Arun Jaitley was one of the most senior leaders in B.J.P and worked as Finance Minister in Modi Sarkar 1. He took extra charge of the defence ministry of India.

Because of his health, he decided to opt-out from the newly formed Modi government. His death is Huge set back to B.J.P and Indian Politics after the death of Mrs Shushma Swaraj there is a long list of his saga in the political domain. this is a tribute to Mr Jatley from sagaraga, may god bless his soul.
